Program structure for mothers involved in the Department of Child Services with children in their care:

This program allows mothers to have up to 2 of their children ages 5 and under live with mother during their treatment. And there are 2 program phases that each mother with children may take advantage of.

Phase 1- Acute Stabilization, Treatment, and Life Skills Training
21 days
Focus on acute stabilization, addictions treatment, parenting skills, life skills, and bonding with children
Mothers provided with group, individual, and family therapy.
Mothers and children provided with intensive case management and discharge planning.
Trained Child Engagement Specialists provide children with age-appropriate learning activities while mothers are in treatment.
Trained staff work with mother and child(ren) to develop appropriate discipline skills, bonding techniques, sleep training, meal planning, and other skills.
Trained staff coach and support the mothers and children in a holistic approach to recovery and family bonding.
Phase 2 - Sobriety Maintenance, Treatment, and Advanced Life Skills Training
Up to 54 days of care after completion of Phase 1 of care.
This phase focuses on the mothers' long-term stabilization and recovery development.
Includes ongoing treatment, parenting education, and life skill development.
Case management focuses on long-term recovery planning, obtaining employment, and finding housing.

Program structure for mothers involved in the Department of Child Services without children in their care:

Trained staff work with mother to develop skills and habits such as appropriate discipline skills, bonding techniques, sleep training, meal planning.
Trained staff coach and support the mothers in a holistic approach to recovery and family bonding.
After the first phase, participants also have the choice of going through "Phase 2," as outlined above.
Trained staff are present 24/7 to maintain safety, manage difficult situations, and provide support to clients. All staff are trained in trauma-informed care, gender responsive care, motivational interviewing, warning signs of abuse, crib safety, and age-appropriate activities for children.
