Our chemical dependency and substance abuse programs take patients in all stages of addiction and helps them move toward sobriety through a variety of services.
Our program offerings are:
OUT-PATIENT: Sessions for substance abuse problems are offered for adults and children in six of our western Kentucky clinics.
INTENSIVE OUT-PATIENT: The Intensive Out-patient Program is offered in Owensboro, KY. Counseling for the family of the client is offered as a part of the program as well as aftercare services to sustain treatment progress. The IOP participants meet a minimum of three hours per day, three days a week for up to six weeks.
DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM: Day treatment offers another option for those struggling with alcohol and drug addictions. This program is intended to be a higher level of care than traditional outpatient, but less intense than a residential program. The Day Treatment Program typically operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
RESIDENTIAL CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PROGRAM: RCD offers acute stabilization, social detox and a rehabilitation treatment program for both men and women over 18 years of age. Patients receive individual and group counseling, alcohol and drug educational classes, relapse-prevention counseling and a strong orientation to 12-step programs (AA and NA) during a 28 to 30 day stay. Family treatment is offered as part of the recovery process. Certified alcohol and drug counselors serve as primary therapists and operate under the direction of a physician. Clients in the residential treatment program can choose to reside in one of two staffed apartments in Owensboro, KY. They attend programming during the day at the outpatient clinic.
EARLY INTERVENTION YOUTH DIVERSION PROGRAM: This program is geared to youth who are at risk of substance abuse, or who fall in between Prevention Services and actual substance abuse treatment services. EIP provides an intensive educational approach addressing lifestyle choices and substance abuse.
PREVENTION SERVICES: RiverValley operates an award winning Regional Prevention Center whose specialized staff provides intensive training and prevention programs to schools, civic clubs and other community organizations. The Prevention Center also houses a state of the art Resource Library that is stocked with numerous books, videos and other resources related to the understanding and prevention of substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, parenting skills and other behavioral health issues. The center is especially proud of its book selections related to children's emotional well being. All materials in the library are available to anyone in the community.
KY-MOMS MATR PROGRAM: This program focuses on serving women who are pregnant and who are at-risk for alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use during their pregnancy. Specific prevention services are designed to provide prevention education services to this at-risk population of women. KY-Moms MATR improves Kentucky birth outcomes by helping women recover from substance use disorders through engaging high-risk pregnant women in intensive case management, substance use treatment, and other needed services.
